The Night You Remember Starts With One Booking
You don't remember every dinner. Most of them just come and go.
But some nights stay with you. The wine keeps coming. Nobody checks their phone. You laugh so hard you forget to look at the menu. You look up and two hours have gone by, and nobody at the table minds.
That is what "La Sosta" means. A stopover. Not a quick stop. A long one. The kind where you stay a bit longer than you planned.
We have made nights like this in Fremantle since 2012. Here is what is waiting for you.
Why We Started La Sosta
Back in 2012, we had one simple idea. Make food the way it's made back home. No shortcuts. No rushing. Just good pasta, good bread, and good company.
That idea never changed. Our pasta is still made by hand, every single day. Our bread and pizza still come hot from a wood-fired oven. Our sauces still cook low and slow, sometimes for hours. It takes more time. It always will. But that's the whole point.
Fast food fills you up. Slow food brings you together. We chose the second one.
Date Night, Done Right
Some nights are just for two people. A quiet table. Good wine. Food that makes you slow down and talk.
Start with warm focaccia. It comes hot from the wood-fired oven, with a little olive oil and sea salt. Then share a wood-fired pizza in Fremantle. It tastes like a small street in Naples, not a takeaway box.
Move on to fresh pasta, made that same day. Try the Pappardelle al Ragu di Agnello e Tartufo. It's slow-cooked lamb with truffle and pecorino cheese. It's the kind of dish that makes people go quiet for a bit, mid-sentence, fork still in the air.
If you both love seafood, share the Lasagnole Gamberi e Pistacchio. WA prawns, pistachio pesto, and grape tomatoes. It never lasts long on the table.
End the night with Tiramisu and two spoons. That's it. That's the whole plan. No big speech needed. Just good food, good wine, and someone worth sharing it with.
A Modern Night Out
Some nights are more than dinner. They are a big deal.
Maybe it's a birthday. Maybe you got a new job. Maybe the whole group just wants a fun night out. La Sosta gives you that fresh, modern night out that Fremantle keeps talking about. Good food, good wine, and a room full of life.
Order the Tagliata alla Toscana. It's steak with rocket, parmesan, and balsamic. Put it in the middle of the table. Watch everyone grab a piece at once, no matter how full they said they were.
Try the Grigliata Imperiale too, if the table loves seafood. Prawns, squid, scallop, and the fish of the day, all off the grill. It feels like the table just won something.
End with an Affogato al Caffè e Frangelico. It's coffee and dessert in one cup. A great way to end a great night, especially when nobody wants to be the first to leave.
Old-School Dining, Upstairs
Some nights need more than a table. They need a whole room.
Our upstairs space is made for groups. Birthdays. Work dinners. Family days. Engagement parties. Big groups or small ones, we set up the space just for you, so it feels like it belongs to your group for the night.
We also offer set menus for functions. That means no stress on the day. You pick a menu ahead of time. We do the rest. Your whole group eats well, course by course, while you actually enjoy the night instead of managing it.
If you are planning an event in Fremantle, this is the classic Italian function dining Perth locals keep coming back to, year after year.
Weekends Are Made for Lingering
Friday to Sunday, lunch at La Sosta isn't a quick bite. It's a long one, on purpose.
Come with a group. Order a few plates for the table. Let the wine keep coming. There's no clock running on a weekend lunch here. Some tables walk in at midday and don't think about leaving until the sun starts going down.
It's the easiest way to turn "let's just grab lunch" into a whole afternoon well spent.
The Little Things We Don't Skip
We know gluten-free and vegetarian guests want a proper meal too, not just a side salad. That's why most of our menu has options for both, made with the same care as everything else.
We know families want a warm welcome, not a rushed one. That's why kids and grandparents are just as welcome at our tables as anyone else.
We know a good bottle of wine can make an average dish great. That's why our wine list is picked to match the food, not just fill a page.
None of it is flashy. All of it matters.
